What universities look for
Four parts of a profile. We work hardest on the one nobody teaches.
School performance belongs to the school. Our attention goes where a coach can genuinely move the needle, and where selective universities look hardest.
School performance
Boards and school grades stay with the school and its teachers. We plan around the calendar rather than competing with it.
Test aptitude
Thinking-skills style reasoning for Indian liberal arts and interdisciplinary universities. We do not run standard SAT or CLAT coaching.
Extra-curriculars
Fewer, deeper commitments that say something true about the student, with real-world assignments and projects that create value.
The thinking individual
Curiosity, critical reading, argument, writing and self-awareness. This is the majority of our time together.
Which adds up to a unique personal narrative
An application is not a list of achievements; it is an argument about a person. Everything above exists to make that argument specific, evidenced and unmistakably the student's own.
How it works for a student
From first call to final application.
Every student follows the same five steps, taught personally by Vineet Sabharwal, former Head of Admissions at Ashoka University. Nothing is handed to an associate at any point.
Choose the programme
Selected by the grade the student is in, not by the admissions season. Three programmes
Discovery call
A free consultation on grade, board, interests and the universities on the family's mind.
Interventions customised
The five interventions are dialled to the programme and to what this profile is missing. The five interventions
Periodic family review
Candid check-ins on progress, pacing and the shortlist, with written feedback throughout.
Final application
Forms, essays, aptitude papers and interviews carried through to submission.
Class of 2026
Results from the 2026 admissions cycle.

Why this, why now
Marks alone no longer distinguish a candidate.
Selective universities in India and abroad have moved to holistic review: they read for curiosity, reasoning and voice. At the same time the working world is changing faster than any syllabus can follow.
22% of jobs are expected to be disrupted within five years, 39% of workers' core skills are expected to change by 2030, and 63% of employers already name skills gaps as their biggest barrier, according to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025.
So we prepare the student, not just the application. The habits that win an admission — reading widely, arguing well, writing clearly, reflecting honestly — are the same habits that hold up long after it.
Employers rank critical thinking and communication above academic major.
Questions families ask
Before you book the call.
What is the biggest challenge for high school students today?
Choice without clarity. Students are asked to commit to a stream, a shortlist and a story about themselves while carrying a full board syllabus. The gap is rarely effort; it is the absence of a structured space to read, think and decide.
What kind of skills does Blue Canvas build?
Critical reading and writing, structured argument and enquiry, mathematical and scientific reasoning, interdisciplinary general awareness, and reflective self-awareness. These are the skills selective universities test for in essays, aptitude papers and interviews.
How do these skills help a college application?
They change the raw material. A student who has read widely and argued weekly has genuine content for essays, evidence for extra-curricular claims, and the composure to think aloud in an interview instead of reciting a rehearsed answer.
Can we join in Grade 11 or Grade 12 rather than Grade 9?
Yes. The Learning Academy is designed for Grade 11 and the Admissions Bootcamp for Grade 12. Starting earlier gives more room for depth, but each programme is complete in itself.
Do you help with choosing streams and subjects?
Yes. Stream and subject decisions are part of the counselling work, mapped against the universities and courses the student is likely to apply to, including eligibility requirements abroad.
How much time does it take each week?
Plan for one live session plus two to three hours of pre-work, reading and assignment writing in a typical week. Intensity rises during application season and eases around board examinations.
What about fees?
Fees depend on the programme and its length, and are shared on the consultation call so the recommendation comes before the price. Quarterly and monthly payment options are available.
Is coaching online or in person?
Sessions are held online, which is how students from nine cities have worked with us. In-person sessions are possible in Gurgaon and Delhi by arrangement.
